Well this is going to be a long message, but here goes (too bad there is no attachment facilty). Installing Flashplayer 10 does not seem to remove Flashplayer 9, it just hides it somewhere! Reading it with IE does not work either so maybe what I need is not version 10 but to eliminate version 9. What I would like to happen is when I doublclick that file it is played by Flash Player 10, which is installed on my machine as an addon to Firefox and IE.Īs it happens the only way I can view this video is to send it to Infranview. I have a file "DailyShow" with extension fwv (I added that extension so it might be wrong - the original had no extension but I have tried it with and without extension). WHen I try to find version 9 in order to uninstall it I can only find version 10.
For some reason installing the latest Flash Player 10 left version 9 there somewhere but invisible. I would like to uninstall or delete the Flash Player 9 and reinstall Flash Player 10 in its place.
This is the program I refer to as standalone. But if I happen to have a flash file on my machine and I click on it, up comes Flash Reader 9 and it cannot play the newer file. But my dilemma is that if I come across a Flash file while browsing it uses my recently installed Flash Player 10 and all is well. You are right, of course I meant Flash Player.
